恐縮です。KBです。ミッチョのBIKEに対抗して新しいコーナー作りました。その名も"interview"。あまりされたことないけどされると困るインタビューを色んな人にしてみようじゃぁないかと。で、第一回はpepeニューシングルの打ち合わせにきていたfarloveの鶴谷さんを捕まえ、SLOWMANのインタビュー！（以下かなり適当なメモしかとっていなかったので、色々つけたしたり面白くしてみたりしました。）
ペペ（以下ぺ）:「SLOWMAN、名前の由来は？」
SLOWMAN（以下S）:「フラワーレコードのコンピに最初に曲を入れることになってそのとき閉め切り間際で名前を決めなきゃないけなかったんだよね。で、２つ候補があったうちの一つがSLOWMAN。レゲエのDJでYELLOWMANとかNINJAMANとか〜MANっていうのがいるでしょ？ああいう感じから。で、候補のもう一つは”マッドツルフェッサー”（爆笑）。 」
ぺ：「ツルフェッサー！！！（爆笑）。最高！くだらなー！」
S：「ケンジ君(Gallery)とかと渋谷のボールでDJやってたときにそう呼ばれてたんだよね。」
ぺ：「では、軽く生い立ちを語ってみてはくれませんかね？」
S：「幼稚園まで横浜に住んでて、小学校にあがるとき父親の転勤を期に三重県の四日市に引っ越して小学校５年までそこにいて、また転勤で小６の時に横浜に戻ってきて。四日市ではリーダーシップをとって学級委員なんかをやる割と目立つタイプだったんだけど、横浜に戻ってきたときにすごいカルチャーショックを受けて、、、。四日市の田舎では塾に行くような子も居ないしあまり激しいイジメなんかなかったのに、横浜では、塾に通って私立を目指す子もいるし、イジメもバンバンあって、これは気を付けなきゃなやられるぞと転校生なりに考えて、、、。そのときのことが以降の人格形成に大きな影響を与えているとは思います。」
ぺ：「僕らは皆中学生の頃は運動部に入ってたりしたんですけど、なにかやってましたか？」
S：「横浜に戻ってきてカルチャーショックを受けてからは、ひねくれてたっていうか斜に構えるようになって、中学高校と帰宅部でした。でも自分ではプライドを持って帰宅部をやってたので毎日楽しかったです。」
ぺ：「初めて買ったレコードは？」
S：「ベストヒットU.S.A.世代なのでビリージョエルと、シカゴかな？中学生の頃。で、高校の頃は今でもよく聴くCLASHの"LONDON CALLING" とSPECIALSの"MORE SPECIALS"を聴いてた。あ、あとRCサクセションも。」
ぺ：「帰宅部のアンセムだ。ワッショイ！ワッショイ！ で、DJを始めたのはいつなんですか！（怒）」
S：「大学生の３年ごろだから２２か２３歳ぐらいに、当時よくクラブとかに行っていた遊び仲間で、自分たちでも出来るんじゃない？って、代々木公園で始めたのが最初。一番最初は音楽も聴きたいけど飲み物も欲しいって言うことで冷蔵庫を持っていったりしてた。３、４年うだうだやってて、徐々に人も増えてきて多いときには２００人ぐらい来てたり。でもそれなりにもめ事あり、テキ屋に蹴りを入れられたり、、、。最後は規模が大きくなりすぎて収集つかなくなって、やめなきゃなって感じで。」
ぺ：「最初のDJが"YoyogiFriendship Project"だったんですね。なるへそ。僕らはライブ前に 緊張をほぐすため、お酒を煽るように飲みライブができなくなるくらいになりまが、ライブ前には飲まれますか？」
S：「それなり飲みますが、普段とかわらないですね。」
ぺ：「大人ですね(関心)。では最後に最近ハマっている物は何ですか？」
S：「セブンイレブンの杏仁豆腐かな？コンビニデザート、甘い物が好きです。あと、２４（トゥエンティーフォー）にもハマってます。レンタルしてみてます。まだ途中ですが。芸能人ではグラビア系よりアイドルの方が好きですね。やっぱ、あややでしょう。」
ぺ：「大人ですね。今日はお忙しいところありがとうございました。新作早く出してくださいね。期待しています。」
*鶴谷聡平 aka SLOWMANは東京を拠点に活動するアーティストで、青山のSpiral Recordsのバイヤーとしても知られている。90年代初頭からDJを始め、現Galleryの長谷川賢司らとともに東京のオリジナル・ブロック・パーティーと呼ぶに相応しいフリーの野外パーティー"YoyogiFriendship Project"を代々木公園で開催。Flower Recordsのコンピレーション2作に参加。Bit of Heavenを立ち上げて1stアルバム"From The Floating Deck"をリリースした。
ということで初インタビューは終わりましたが、本当に適当なメモしかとっていなかっためSLOWMANが正確にこう言っていたかはナゾ！多分言ってたと思う、言ってたんじゃないかな？ま、ちょっとは許してください。では、第二回が何時で誰にインタビューするかはわかりませんがまた。バイなら、ナラいば。
